Photos: 2013 Harkin Steak Fry

One of the highlights of being a Democrat in Iowa is the Harkin Steak Fry. Every year Iowa’s top Democrat holds a fundraiser in Indianola and, over the last couple decades has grown it into one of the top political events in the nation. Dozens of presidential candidates and have gotten their first taste of Iowa politics with an Iowa steak on the side.

I try to go every year. This was the first where I wasn’t “on the clock.” As always, I took pictures. See them all on Flickr and Instagram. Here are some of my favorites:

Based on the speech he gave, I’m no closer to thinking Joe Biden will seek the Presidency in 2016. This was THE crowd to test the waters with and I heard nothing from the Vice President I hadn’t heard before. Not to say it was a bad speech, just nothing that hinted at the next four years.
